Why cant i hit this deer?

i have been trying for quite awhile, and i just cannot hit this deer with any of my attacks, why? and he is not attacking me back either?

but i can 1 hit punch( and kill) a rabbit

Deer are much harder to kill then rabbits. Read the combat guide by dataslycer in the how do I section of the forums

ok, now i got knocked out because i decided to walk away, and the deer attacked me... i guess i cannot kill deer, or ants, or rats. just bunnies???

As a new character, no, it'll take you a while to you can kill stuff.

Follow my suggestion and read dataslycers guide to combat if you wish to learn about how to fight

yes i have read it before, i just got bored and decided to attack a deer, and i think it was glitched because it kept walking toward me, but it was going nowhere and i was just trying to hit it. it couldnt attack me until i moved

Did your red attack bar empty? If yes, then you hit it. If not, then you can't attack it for some reason. Hitting it doesn't mean you damage it though.

Your bar empties even if you 'miss' it.

If you move while being attacked or rather are in the process of moving while you are attacked, your defense bar won't count... :v

Yes but it would still show you that you're standing right. If you can't attack due to weird placement or anything (since he said the deer was acting weird and not attacking him) the attack bar doesn't empty.
