Idol q?

Couldn't find an answer to this... maybe because it's so obvious, but i figured i'd check first:

Does the q of the materials used have any effect on village idols? Does it change auth. cap or drain rate or anything? After a little thought, it doesn't seem obvious one way or the other... but based on reading the forums it feels like the answer is no.
