Need a quick Palisade Tip

Basically there's cliffs that form a U shape. I've built a house directly in the bottom right corner. Is it possible to palisade this off, with a gate, using only 1 initial cornerpost?

I can provide a screenshot if it's too difficult to envisage.

You need two cornerposts with two tiles in between (and paved like usually) to build a gate.
You build a gate from a cornerpost to another cornerpost in a direction.

Ok. I would have been able to do it if I kept 1 tile space between the house and the cliff. But I tried keeping it simple and it backfired. -.-
