How can I play at university?

Postby Shask » Sun Oct 10, 2010 2:13 pm

I recently moved, and when I try to log in I get "Connection timed out: connect". Anyone know what I should do? I'm guessing I need to contact the university IT department about the firewall or something.

Probably.
How do I play at school? ("School", "university", or "work" for that matter.)

Couldn't really see anything that would help much in that thread, anyone else playing at university?

http://www.your-freedom.net/

A free account only gets you 64kbps, but that should be sufficient for H&H, as long as you close down anything that's using bandwidth, like torrents, downloads, etc. (I personally pay 10 Euros a month to get higher speeds because I use it for other things too. The firewall here is extremely restrictive, it blocks anything other than port 80.)

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for. I'll probably buy it when I get it all to work.

At the moment I can get OpenVPN on etc, and can log in, but when I click "log in where you last logged out" it seems to take an age to load, and I haven't managed to fully log in yet. I'll try tomorrow.

How can you play at an unviersity? Dude, just don't. You're there to learn, not to play games... Seriously...

So people spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, learning? Wrong. I think you'll find the creators of this game are also at university.

Stop being such a little nazi telling people how to live their lives, thanks.

Have you actually got it to work with the 64kb/s maximum mode? Everything is working fine, it loads up as far as the screen after you log in (i can see the HUD/minimap) but the screen is black and says Loading..
