How do I deal with boars?

Ive been playing about a week, I have a house and a garden and there are times when the game is unplayable because I cannot avoid the number of aggressive boars one screen in every direction of my hearth fire. I am careful and move my screen around to see if my path is clear, but they always seem to be just outside the range of looked at, and their aggro radius seems massive. The highest level boar i've seen in my immediate area, and I don't have the combat abilities to deal even with the lowest level boar. (I'm having a lot of trouble with the combat system, even with the wonderful guides.)

I'm on the verge of quitting, i'm so frustrated.

Does anyone have any advice for dodging these animals? Or am I just getting unreasonably unlucky?

firstly, get for yourself a sling qu10+(can be made from strings like a taproot, but level your survival to 20+ too ), and up your marksmanship to 15-20 atleast, then block him somehow with hearthfires/etc (not builden ones). Enjoy getting some LP/leather/meat from this :3

I strongly recommend you fence in your garden and dwelling, even if it is just a stick fence.
As long as the boars are on the outside, you can work in peace (and attack with impunity).

I agree with the building a simple fence around your home to keep them out. I also STRONGLY recommend you place a personal claim over your property to prevent them from spawning inside the fence. As for killing them, use a sling from a safe place like inside a fence or several tiles away from the shore in water (large lake shallows or a boat).

If you use this client it will let you see through objects so that you can see all those ninja boars.

A boar just attacked me right outside my claimed, fenced property. Had to run around the block so I could get to my house, now the beast is waiting for me in my garden. Adrenaline rush was great, but when is it safe to get out?

If you're near the water you can let the boars aggro you before running into shallow water and shooting them from there. Easy meat that way.
