I'm having major fps problems.

I have a good computer that handles all new games almost at full res. however when i play haven i have like 7 fps all the time. It drains my cpu by 50,

Any ideas?

make sure you're not doing anything silly like running in 16 bit color mode or anything like that

Go to desktop, right click, "settings", 32 or 64. 'nuff said.

I wonder if you actually have the latest drivers. If you're looking in device manager, it might say you have the latest drivers, but it is lying to you. You have to actually go to the manufacturer's website and get the latest driver there. I had that problem when I upgraded to Windows 7 and it downgraded my video driver. I guess Microsoft would rather lie and tell you it's up to date than just come clean and say it doesn't know.

Still, this game just runs slowly. It spends a long time drawing things for some unknown reason. Crop fields where the crops have a lot of sprites per tile cause the biggest FPS drop, such as wheat, poppy and flax. Every computer I've run it on (my own and otherwise) runs it very slowly for its level of graphics. This leads me to believe that either everyone has a super gaming machine or they don't have a laptop that lights on fire while playing because complaints are rare.
