Is my boat gone?

So I was cruising around in my brand new rowboat, when I saw some wheat growing. I thought, "Hey, I'll grab two seeds so I can have my own little patch of wheat." I hop off the boat, and BAM! I can't move, and now apparently the boat doesn't belong to me anymore. I'm trapped in someone's claim with no way out. What do I do?

your boat is still in the water? and you piloted the boat to where it is? you should be able to avast your boat, even if it is on someone's claim, as they "remember" their owner.
