Termites

Looking at my campfire - or rather where it once was - there is now what seems to be a termite hill. Possibly an ant hill. Either way, a hill-shaped thing, covered with bugs of some kind, and swarms of bugs crawling around near it. What is it, and how can I get rid of it?
