what are those round rocks?

since everything in this game makes me curious: what are those round rocks, dark gery, that people are hording? all i can do is chip stone

They are stone boulders. Check wiki for more info.

thnx but i dont mean those, i ment the round ones, smaller than boulders. lots of villages have like 20 of them lying around in one place

The rocks are boulders that people with cellars have them. You dig them up when you have a cellar.
