what better town to start the game?
World 3 - Hermit.
World 4 - Hermit.
World 5 - Resident of Axes Village,then Hermit.
World 6 - Hermit.
World 7 - Hermit.
World 8 - Hermit.
World 9 - Farmer of Emerald City
World 10 - Hermit,Lawpeaker of Dryad Parade.

None. The best way to start is to explore the game on yourself, imo.
And, not too much towns will take in completely fresh noobs.

^^ I agree. I starte dout fresh and learned alot. Then after some, I joined a town, learned more. Then i went solo again to refine what i learned. Don't rush into a village too fast!

I started out by meeting a experienced player who spent sometime training me up, i guess you could say i had a easy starting, but once i had the hang of things he told me what to do and wouldn't help me. Spent a few hours getting my first house up and then fencing it. But it was worth it for the experience. After that i lived a hermit at his old estate since he quit and gave it to me as a present.
