Silkworms

Postby EveryTimeV » Sun Aug 02, 2009 12:45 pm

I have a male and a female moth, now I need to find food for them.

Please can someone help me out on this?
I will steal all of the RuneStones in the land, if your stone has gone missing in the night then I'm already hauling it.

They're still moths? You don't need to feed them. They'll make eggs and die, and only when these eggs hatch at a herbalist tables do you need to feed the worms. If you don't have a mulberry tree, don't hatch the eggs. If you need mulberries for planting the tree, walk to the nearest town and ask for some. Nearly everyone will give you those for free.

I don't think anyone around my area has possession of these, I am near Pine valley lake supposedly, I'll have to have a look on the map to see where one is...

Edit: Looked on the map and think I discovered my actual location, seems that the closest town to me is laketown, it looks very big too.

Log in at RoB. I'll come in five minutes with some mulberries for you. You need to prepare the saplings yourself, though. I trust you know how this works?

Yeah, I just hope they don't mess up and die.

Don't worry, I'm bringing a bunch, so you should get at least one sapling. Just try to plant your trees under some protection, as some assholes like to cut down people's trees. If you get more saplings than you need, it's a good idea to plant them randomly in the wilderness. Chances are that potential griefers will miss those, so you can use them to get mulberries for replacing the trees by your home (again, they shouldn't get cut down if you protect them - even a simple claim should be a deterrent enough).

I put everything I want to keep safe in my Yeomanry boundaries, and everything I own is also out of the way from the rest of civilisation apart from one friendly neighbour (Who will appreciate it if I plant one for him).

Claim isn't much protection against theft, but nobody will lose a character with vandalism skill just to cut down a mulberry tree. For protecting really valuable stuff, you'll need a wall of some kind.

My cast iron production, or any metal production for that matter has been fruitless baring 3 Cast iron bars which have been used, the only solution (And I mean the only solution) is a wooden wall. For now though I really do not have any valuable items, only a farm plot. Most of my items are basically small industry.

Rather than chopping even more trees I want to get on with an actual brick wall.

Until you get a wall up, I recommend storing your valuables in AltVault(TM). Basically, make an alt or three, put the goods in their inventories and log off. Your goods are now 100% safe.

Yes, this is an exploit. But it's an exploit that all the thieves use, making it completely impossible to retrieve stolen items. The more people use this exploit, the faster it will get fixed (and thus theft will be fixed faster), so I encourage everyone to do it.
