Properly configure custom clients?

Postby Jordus » Sat Nov 06, 2010 8:48 pm

On both Pacho and gilbertus ...both 32 bit and 64 (yes I am shooting in the dark at this point) I have tried these changes:

java -Xms256 -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se
Then
java -Xms256 -Xmx512m -jar have.jar -d moltke.seatribe.se

I went to the gilbertus forum and tried to follow the instructions but the path he gives
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java" -Djava.library.path="C:\Games\Haven and Hearth" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar sh.seatribe.se
(I know change to moltke) does not exist..I can only find up to \java\jre6\bin...there is no java and I have no idea what -djava.library.path means.

as a side not both 32 bit versions get to the log in screen where I get a message in red stating connection refused: connect
but neither 64 bit versions will do anything even though on the java website it tells me I am running 64-bit Java.

So far I can get in fine from the play button online.

any help?

Thanks.

Same thing was happening to me until I finally figured it out. I'm using GIlbertus 64-bit version. Edit to the entire run.bat file to read verbatim this
Code: Select all
javaw -jar haven.jar -d moltke.seatribe.se

While you can change javaw to java and delete the entire -d, it allows you to run debug and such. So I recommend just copying that code and replacing everything that was in your run.bat file with that. Should run fine after.

Hey Gh0stw0lf,

Thanks for the reply. Tried it and it was a no go..Tried it in both 32 and 64. Maybe I am doing something else wrong?
I extracted the hh-windows-32bit file into a new folder (not within Java path). I edit the run.bat and then double click the haven.jar file. Is this correct?

You're supposed to run "run.bat", not "haven.jar".

lol...odd..whenever I try I get a command window (dos window) that flashes for less then 1 second. So I figured the haven.jar file was the correct one since it let me get to the login screen...If it ain't one thing.

add "pause" on the next line of run.bat, it might give you some useful info in the console window

Ok I added pause on the next line and received

'javaw' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I replaced javaw with java and received the same message.

you need to find where your java install is and change run.bat to have something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java" (but the actual location on your computer) because it doesn't know where to look for "java"

Thanks for the help and your time Sabinati.
With that last recommendation it helped me to get it running. (believe it or not I am able to understand a little better what was in Gilbertus' directions)
Not sure what djava.library.path means, but I am in. Thanks again for your time.

Ok so I had Gilbertus running up until earlier today. I know there have been some changes but has the path been changed again? I have it changed to moltke but can only log in through the original client. I really hate playing on such a small window...lol.

Thanks.
