Ancestral Worship

Note: I have read most of the threads dealing with this, and done what they have said. No dice.

I have Ancestral worship, and I built a shrine. I got what I need (In this case, hemp seeds). Now, I picked up my seeds and right-clicked on the shrine. Nothing. I try something else (carrot). Nothing. Why do my ancestors hate me?!

You probably aren't using your own shrine.
You can only worship YOUR ancestors apparently.

I believe it to be my shrine, since I built it.

Are you using the items in your worship bar?

Yes, I am, as I said. The one farthest to the left is hemp seeds, the one second closest is green tea leaves, and the one farthest right is a carrot. I built the shrine myself, I picked up my hemp seeds, right-clicked on the shrine, and absolutely nothing happens. Perhaps I should build another?
