Will an online Hearth fire poduce light in a cave?

Postby BlitzKrieger » Sun Nov 07, 2010 11:49 pm

Subject says it all.

UPDATE: Even if I light a Hearth and a regular fire in the cave, no light emits from either, thus I'm still blind within the cave. What is wrong?

Will a tree falling down in the middle of the forest make noise if no one can hear it?

Answering your question, I believe they do, even when you're not online. But not 100% sure. Maybe you could try it and find out.

I'm actually in the process of figuring it out, but all my torches seem to be duds, I don't have a working nightvision client because of the update, and I'm trying to get light. to experiment.

And the tree falling thing was kinda funny...

Why don't you just build a hearth fire in the cave? I don't see the problem :S

Btw you have to equip a torch in your hand.

you can't build hearthfires in caves.

is there light by the entrace of the cave? or is it completely dark? if it is completely dark you may need to update your video drivers.
