Well I'm looking start playing the game, I log on, really confused what I should do... I've picked my race, name, and gathered the items from the trunk

Edit: Are there stars floating over your head, did the game pop back to character selection?

If there are stars over your head, you only got knocked out - just wait a minute or two and you'll get back up.

The issue is there are no trees anywhere, so the information in the link is all find and dandy but everything is chopped.... ah welll

Hmm, sounds like you went through a charter exit, you didn't take the ladder?

It seems I can click on a stone and visit a select 6-8 villiages?

Ah yes, that is not to prefer... Those are charter stones built by villages (and then pretty much abandoned), for new players to start at and travel between. I'd advice you to start a new character and use the ladder instead

I've did everything on that tutorial but find the bone for a saw and find meat.
