What is the required melee level to fight a bear?

How can i atleast survire 1 hit from the bear while i use a shield without it pentrating all of my defence?

well the most important thing is to have some decent armor, you'll take less than 20 damage per hit. i'd advise about 100-200 melee, but they changed it recently so it might be a bit easier at the lower end now.

How much mus the armor class be? I do have some armor, but it isn't really that great in armor class.

if you have round 120+ on melee your not need armor. remember your bluebar is like your personal moves and stuff. as long as the blue bar doesn't die your never take hits. there is an updated combat guide. you might wanna check it out.

Well when the bear goes in beserk mode, he will destroy your defense, and againest level 10 bear so armour is a must. Also 120 Melee is not enough to keep up with the attacks.
