how much perception/exploration needed to track?

on average how much perception/exploration will i need in order to see scents from veteran players?

i know folks have ripped off some of my stuff, i have ranging but i am not picking up any scents. have not put any points into exploration yet and only have 16 perception.

I certainly wouldn't try tracking a veteran player... As they would probably kill your ass if you tried to pursue them....

As long as they aren't stealing stuff you absolutely need or are stealing very valuable items I would just let it slide

It depends because most players do increase their int but don't bother with stealth. There really is no standard for veteran players because many just don't bother with stealth, or only raise it a token amount. 50 exploration is a good starting point for general thief hunting, I would say.

they wont kick my ass if i summon them while their offline.

actually.

xmpp notifications can tell the person when they are being summoned, if they can get to a computer at that moment, they can log in during the summoning and fight back. happened to me a couple times, summoning a dude and all of a sudden the fucker starts moving
