Destroy Hearth Fire

From Haven and Hearth Wiki about Hearth Fire:
You can destroy a Hearth Fire on your Personal claim without leaving a scent.

Is it true even if the claim was built after the hearth fire?Is there still no risk of scent?
Also do I need vandalism to destroy it?

yes it is true that you can destroy HFs on your own claim without leaving a scent and without vandalism.

Just make sure Criminal Acts are turned of and try to destroy it. If it works, no scents will be left since you can't leave scents when Criminal Acts are turned off.
