How do I find out my coordinates on the map?

I am in desperate need of a relation to where I am on the world map, because I have no idea how to get anywhere and its really annoying. Does anyone have a method to determine coordinates?

just drive around a bit until you see some villages/cities, leave your boat so the name shows up, then look at the map a bit zoomed out for the name, then u know your area and will likely find your place

I find water features to be a good way to locate yourself baring other settlements. They're usually fairly distinct travel far enough along any network of rivers/lakes and eventually you'll find something on one of the posted maps. Then work it backwards from there.
