Recovering forgotten username

Postby Wilkommen » Fri Nov 26, 2010 11:12 am

Why is this not possible? I stopped playing a couple of months ago, but in case I decided to keep playing I put my most valuable items onto my inventory and onto the inventory of an alt. Unfortunately, since returning, I have forgotten the username of the alt account. I know the email address (I still have the HnH registration email, yet it contains no username), the names of the 2 characters associated with the account, but the only option I have is to type in my username to recover my password. I have tried using my email to recover my password, but this did not work. I PM'ed loftar a couple of days ago in the hope that he could help, but no response. A simple 'Type in the email address associated with your account for us to send you your username and/or password' would solve all my problems. Is there any other way?

I'm pretty sure that he's asking how to recover a lost account, not how to change the password for his current account.

The basic reason why this isn't currently possible is simply because I have no index mapping e-mail addresses to account names. Without such an index, searching for an e-mail address would have me iterating through all accounts in order to find it.
