About Walls

Postby metaphonia » Sat Nov 27, 2010 12:44 pm

I made a palisade time ago and now i want to make a brickwall to defend it better...should i make it next to the palisade or is it better to put it some tiles away from it?Are there some other ways to prevent people to come in a village(I've heard of a thing you can do with hf to enter in village, maybe I've read it wrong)?
Thank you in advance for your help and tell me if my english is understandable enough :D

Hi, your English is fine.

Really up to you how you want to build. Some people build village claims and use crossroads to jump over walls, if you have a claim over everything that should counter it ok.

Some people try to get your hearth secret to create an alt inside your area, just don't give it out.

If someone does try to walljump over, if you have a gap between your walls, just means they have to do it twice, so it is more secure.

I hope that is understandable.

If the crossroad connection is built outside the walls they will be able to jump over it?

Someone can build a crossroads next to a wall and then build loads of signs on their side of the wall around the crossroads.

They then use another crossroads to travel to that one and it will make them appear in the nearest free space, which will be across the wall.

Therefore if the OP builds his walls further apart, they will have to go through the process twice. Or just make sure your own village claim covers all the walls.

One thing to keep in mind is that if the walls are on paved ground (not brick, that may an oversight) and is claimed, village or personal, then they do not decay. So if you have the resources, the time, the dedication, and a sense of survival, you can be able to secure yourself well enough to be left in peace. If the village claims covers enough ground, walls around far enough and you can maintain it. you should be free of wall jumpers and snipers as well.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

I always thought walls decay even if there on paved ground. Am I wrong?

If I'm not mistaken, a recent update made it so that nothing on a CLAIM decays. For stuff off claim decay still will but I think paving still reduces the rate.

Somethings still declay on claimed paved ground such as cupboard, meat grinder, loom, spinning wheel, etc.
