Judging by the mini map you are just west of goonhiem, on your map you are in the northwest most forest in the green circle.

It should be perfectly possible at any time whatsoever. That map is old and isn't even relevant any longer. What happens when you try?

Well, it looks like they are really far north. Maybe they are hitting the top of the map.
