to protect from wall jumping:
easiest way get your village claim out to around 100 tiles further out from your wall. this means they will need to make 40,000 plus piles of sticks.
which most people will not do unless you really really really pissed them off. (or A.D. gets bored)

this means:
1). building a village
2). making banners
3). maintaining all the authority point drain

I have seen multiple walls get jumped by the goons back in the day so.... call that protection if you will.
