How to stop boar attacks as a newbie?

The topic, really. Every single time i start a new character, it gets killed by a boar wandering into my camp. Any help on this, please?

Either make a roundpole fence (requires only carpentry I think). Or make a perimeter out of construction signs (i.e. fires with 1 stick in them). The latter being more of a PITA.

just stay close to the water at all times as boars cant reach you in shallow water, then make leather armor (so u have more time to run into shallow water)
