Buy Stuff Off a Barter Stand

Postby LuisGherner » Wed Dec 01, 2010 2:37 pm

Hello guys, I'm new still and I came across a barter stand with items in it, I saw it say..

Sling Quality 164, for 50 Bricks quality 1+.

I've gotten 50 bricks, 2 casket full and an inventory full. How do I go about buying it? it sais buy next to it.. but I can't seem to buy it, does Brick colour matter?

I'm pretty sure you need all 50 bricks in your inventory to make the trade, which is obviously a problem for most people.

Dammit!

I've only ever seen 2 people running around aswell, they were new guys :P just like me :)

If only you could like, trade in the caskets aswell, would help so much more :( getting those 50 inventory spaces are quite hard for a new guy.

Yeah, this should be fixed, trade should always be encouraged.

And this is why you should use coins when you set up a shop, people.

They don't need coins per se, but they're a very convenient way to condense value into few inventory slots. Let's say that this stall that's asking for 50 bricks for a sling was split into two stalls. One buys bricks for 5 coins a piece, the other sells slings for 250 coins a piece. The customer can thus compress the fifty bricks into just 3 inventory slots, which means everyone can buy that sling regardless of his inventory size.

And then of course there's the benefit of allowing mixed payment. Let's say you need bricks and linen, you can buy both for coins so your customer can buy that sling for any combination of these goods.

Ah, didn't consider that, neither did those traders probably (if they had metals in the first place!).
