Why can't I shear my sheep?

I have already tried left-clicking it but the only options are "Info" and "Slaughter".

First make sure you have the animal husbandry skill. Then you just Right click the sheep and an option to shear should appear along with info and slaughter.

I believe it can take Sheep a while to have enough wool to shear after you get them or after someone else has shaun them, but I am afraid I do not know how long it takes.
I normally get two or three pieces off a sheep at a time.

do you have a shearing tool, like axe or something? in your hands of course
