Hi, im a new Hearthling and I have a bunch of questions. Note that I am playing with a friend, I am doing hunting and he is doing carpentry, farming etc

1. How do I see where I am in relation to more populated places, like is there a world map?
2. Can somebody explain the basics of hunting, such as what skills needed and what items
3. What is important infrastructure for a beginning camp
4. What are other good skills to couple with hunting
5. What are good beliefs to go with hunting

Yea a map is on the forum just make a little SEARCH named Mqrius Map

Hunt with MM (Marksman) and use a sling( Craft from string )
3. What is important infrastructure for a beginning camp
House? Rack . Tanning Tub get all skill first
4. What are other good skills to couple with hunting
UA ? But only use MM
5. What are good beliefs to go with hunting

I got the map but it doesnt really help because I have no idea where I am on it, and it loads EXTREMELY slowly. Also, to start with for LP do I just chop trees all over the place, and when/how is hunting fast LP? I hunted a herd of chickens and didnt get much LP, I am assuming becomes fast when you start boat hunting boars etc?

Look for bodies of water that look familiar to locate yourself on the map, ruins/villages can help too.

As for hunting, I recomend a murder fence on the outskirts of your camp, small roundpole fence with a bunch of gates and chambers, then you can just aggro stuff and trap it by playing with the gates. Or if you really don't care about looks (lol) just build a wack of fires with 1 stick in them for the construction signs, finish with gates if you so choose.

You can also wall in non-aggressives using construction signs before attacking with sling and they won't be able to touch you. (don't screw around with bears like this, but u shouldn't be anyways you'll take a month to kill one most likely)

Lastly u can use water, critters can't go into shallows so find a place with a rock right on the shoreline (hard cause ppl like to make runestones outta em for some stupid reason), and just stand in the water, of course eventualy when the critter gets low on health you'll prolly have to chase it, or maybe disengage but you loose LP that way.

Anyhow just some idears for you to chew on.
