village without lawspeaker

what happens when i renounce lawspeaker? my village has a chieftain, will he become lawspeaker or can i renounce and later take the positon back?

If a village has no lawspeaker, anyone in the village who has Lawspeaking (except chief apparently) can take the position by right-clicking idol and selecting Become Lawspeaker.

If the village's auth is below 50,000 then anyone can take Lawspeaker this way, even if they are not in the village.

Actually they can only take lawspeaker of the village if the village has has no villagers at all. Below 50k is when you can destroy the idol.

If the village has no lawspeaker, then someone within the village can take it.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

I believe this is how it used to be, but I know from experience that it doesn't work this way now. Unless I am insane or something -- but I am very confident that I recently took LS of a village that I wasn't in and had just finished putting a chieftain alt in. The next time I get a chance to test this, I will.
