Confusing Palisade Wall

Ok.. heres the deal, I'm building a Palisade wall...

It sais 'Initial Cornerpost' I've already done one of them, I was then going to make a gate, so I added another Corner post (2 gaps apart) but its making me make another Initial Cornerpost? how do I make a damn gate XD

Uh oh, you're gonna have to make another initial cornerpost with that setup. The wall needs to be make a continuous shape all the way around the area you want to wall off, beginning and ending at the spot where you plan to build the gate. Only when both cornerposts have been built can you make a gate between them.

If you have enough strength to palibash, or a bit of patience with a ram, you can build a wall through the gate spot to place the other cornerpost, then knock down the wall and build the gate there.

What str would I need to knock out 2 pieces?

700 or more (I don't remember exactly) to do it by hand. With a ram, alone you need 120~ str or something like that. It's really easier to just build a new cornerpost; atleast you have the spacing right. I know people who've accidently made it so their walls don't line up, or a cliff disrupts them, etc. You're doing ok, nothing to worry about

You're fine the way you're doing it now. Finish the cornerpost in your image, and then you'll be able to right click either of them and build a gate between them. You can't build a gate until there are 2 cornerposts.

700 -.- *faints* that sounds seriously high but then again, I wouldn't want it at Str 50 considering anybody could do it then

I kinda.. carried it on haha.. I'll build the gate in a different place lol.
