Beehives/Honey/Wax

Postby LuisGherner » Thu Dec 16, 2010 3:23 pm

How do I make my beehives give me more honey and beeswax?

we currently have around 4 Beehives, but only 1 rarely does any work xD and only gives us somewhat 0.1 litres of Honey in the first place?

For good honey/wax you basically want the green circle that shows up when you plan it jammed full of crops, I think they hold like 1 L of honey max at a time though, so drain often if you need lots. As above only 1 beehive per that radius.

Most things in wiki are best taken with a grain of salt in my experience.

they produce honey and wax when there are plants growing, not when the plants are harvestable, so you want a high turnover. harvest and replant a lot and don't let them sit in harvestable stage for a long time. and like pyre said, jam that circle full of crops.

If you're really just out for the honey and wax, plant carrots around the hive. They grow so ridiculously fast that you will get more than enough wax/honey if you harvest and replant them as soon as they're ready every time.
