Jewelry: how is it possible to achieve such big numbers?

Postby slipper » Fri Dec 17, 2010 1:45 pm

I saw the Sodom trading thread, q1000+ Clothier's Thimble, q700 thanes, etc. I remember someone saying on the IRC that with 50 points in smithing he could forge q400+ items.

I don't know the formula, but I know it is the result of insanely high PSY. Why do you think cavebulbs are so valuable?

Forge Ring
Of course, he can only theoretically forge q400 stuff, because nobody has metal anywhere near that good.

Jewellery is an exception, since gold and silver have no q, so their q is solely determined by smithing and psy. One character in a village specializes as a jeweller and grinds up a lot of smithing, and the whole village feeds him cavebulbs. Add forge rings for smithing boost, and boost psy with booze and tobacco for a bit of extra points.

I understand now, thanks for the reply.
