Place a house beside a wall

Postby kobnach » Sun Aug 09, 2009 3:59 pm

So, I'm trying to build a hose in a fairly tight space, and I can't seem to plant the construction flag. I get yellow something's-obscured images, and they look as if the house has ribs sticking out of it - not on the door end, which makes sense (and would help avoid useless placement) or on the opposite end (which would prevent one technique for unenterable vaults) but on the sides. I don't remember this being a problem before - I've placed them right up against ravines in the past. Has something changed? Or am I asleep at the keyboard, and doing something dumb in consequence?

Have you tried holding shift while placing the house? I hear this turns off grid-lock, so you might be able ti finesse it in there.

Is it possible the ribs have been added to prevent construction of long-cabin invulnerable vaults?

I'm pretty sure it's just a "You're doing it wrong" from J&L.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.
