Unarmed combat is better than Melee combat?

My friend say, Unarmed combat damage is ignore enemy's defense point.

But i thinks Highlevel Melee combat that did a terrible deal of damage.

What would you do if you were me?

You need to invest in both stats. Most of the combat maneuvers are influenced by Unarmed Combat, in a PvP fight the hearthling with the higher Unarmed Combat will get more benefits.
The bronze sword and the militia sword are pretty cheap, you can trade forageable good for them, just check the "Apples for Oranges" section.

Unarmed damage passes a bit of they're armor, melee doesnt. If you have trouble passing peoples armor with melee then you wouldnt even get past they're defense bar in the first place. And melee and un armed is poo just buy a sling and do marksman ship

as has been mentioned in other posts, slings and bows are fine right up to the point where the other guy is standing next to you, upon which you are as good as dead. Secondly, the question was not melee, unarmed or marksmanship, but which one of melee or unarmed

I don't see how you arrived at this conclusion.

Melee has more brute power and can be greatly boosted with thanes, unarmed has more finesse and doesn't require a shield. It's a matter of personal preference, but even if you're going melee you should get some unarmed to avoid getting raped by manoeuvres.
