if i can kill without murder so why skill to murder ?

the thread: Game Development: Crime & Punishment dosnt explain how murder works exactly.
someone in mirc chat say u can also kill a guy without murder. he just loses hhp and if hhp = 0 he is dead.
so why to skill to murder ?

my understanding is that murder allows you to attack unconcious people, [which does HHP damage directly].
If you attack a person when his shp is low, any extra damage hits his HHP [plus weapons deal HHP as well]... thus you could in theory kill a person while they were concious and not need the murder skill to do it.
I suppose this should likely be changed in some way.. Although its no doubt far more inconvient to camp them and do it, as they could possibly be calling for help / someone might stumble upon you while your spending a few minutes camping someone [possibly longer if they have high HP]
