Please try to use the proper forums for your threads. I saw many threads for the "How do I?" popping up in the Inn lately. If you have a question about game mechanics it goes in the "How do I?" section.

I am actually not sure if there is a bigger chance to find mines on mountains than anywhere else and I doubt anybody can tell you the exact chance of mines spawning in certain locations, but the devs.
