...become a good merchant / trader?

Postby mannequin88ts » Fri Dec 31, 2010 12:10 pm

I'll briefly explain my situation:

I have been playing for almost a week and I am trying to develop a small village. I am camped in the middle of the map not too far from the big cities and near many rivers that could allow easy access to my spot.
As I am planning to not play a lot in next months and I would like to not abandon my camp, I thought that it could be a nice idea to become a centre for trading goods. So people will come to my village and do their trades, letting me to live my real life from time to time and also giving a little satisfaction for have build something.

Is it possible or even worth trying? And what should I need?

The first most important thing you'll need for that is a mine. And i don't mean only tin or copper.

well, maybe I wasn't really clear.
I want to establish a village / city / port or whatever, where people can come and trade among others, not with me.

I think I should need a village claim first of all and then a lot of space, like a big square with many barter and vending stands and roads (with milestones) to connect the cities... things like that

Ah, okay. But if you want to put a claim on it, only vending and barter stands will work. Cuz other players can't trade with each other on your claim. But they can with the stands.

That's indeed a good idea. Make like 2 palisaded or brickwalled places with the doors open. 1 part claimed with stands, other part unclaimed without stands, so people can trade with each other there.
