A few questions on trading

Postby ALWAYS » Sat Jan 01, 2011 11:11 pm

Firstly, how do people find one another to even trade anything?
And I've recently came into a Q60+ soil spot. What would two coffers full of this soil get me?
I'd love to get a pickaxe, high Q metal saw, shovel, scythe, Q200-400 sling, Q200-400 string, and 2-4 high Q planting pots.

You can maybe get the sling but only because the quality doesn't matter any more.

Most meet at established trade places such as Angkor, Buyan Marketplace, Constantinople.

That soil, while decent, is not really worth that much.

Also, high Q metal saws are pointless. If you are looking to get high quality boards, use a bone saw which are higher quality, if you are looking to get a lot of boards, use a metal saw (2 extra boards per cutting). If you are looking to get lots of high quality boards, plant more trees ;)

Well I know Bone Saws are a lot easier to get high Q (before I died I could make Q175 bone saws by the dozens), and I just need a metal saw to make tons of boards. Obviously missing my scythe, shovel, and pickaxe VERY much. Also, what do you mean sling Q doesn't matter anymore? I don't remember the formula very well, but the last I remember it was Sling Q + Perception / ? = Minimum hit, Sling Q + Marksmanship / ? = Maximum hit, or something like that.

Edit: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF on the sling nerf. THAT'S WHY I COULDN'T HIT 20+ ANYMORE, I was like "WTF?" when I couldn't even kill a goddamn deer!

All slings now have the damage of a q10 sling, quality doesn't effect it with the most recent update.

Sling damage is not dependant on q anymore. It will just affect the aiming speed. Take a look in the announcement forum for more information: http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13599

Edit: Damn it!

So, where the hell are these places, anyways? How do people usually get there? I don't have a wagon, or the resources, and skills to even produce one. I've been collecting Chantrelles like crazy though, and this new home of mine is quite rich in a diversity of things... Except metals, as usual -_-

Q20+ Water, Q60+ Soil, Q40+ Clay, Q40+ Fish
EDIT: Level 9-10 wildlife as well.

[Map of the world] - Shows the locations of many villages, should help you find your way to one place or another.

People usually get to one of these places by porting there via crossroads or simply travel there by foot/boat/plane. Another method is to invite your would be trade partner to your village, he/she destroys their hearth fire and ports to your village idol; or vice versa.
