Grinding LP?

Postby atomicwinter » Fri Jan 14, 2011 7:05 am

I am frustrated trying to grind LP. All these people seem to have lots of it already. Any good methods?

I find that digging sand is a great way, if you have a ready source.
Consumes less stamina then dirt/clay and is close to a water source if you have a kuksa.

Just don't deplete it

Easiest way is to make buckets. Once you get your beliefs situated, you get several hundred LP from a tree.

Another way is pottery. Dig clay then make clay items. I forget which one give you the most LP per clay, but i think its teapots.

You will get much more from the Wicker Baskets.

Buckets!

Get ur survival as much as u can. I have 40 for example. I also made nettle shirt and pants to further increase it. I killed a bear and I get good q bones. I made a bone saw q70. Then I lvled my carpentry to 30 and voila. 167 LP per bucket.

at the moment i get about 1500 lp from cutting down a tree, but it takes me a lot longer, by making everything into blocks and double-lighting fires. Theres probably an easier thing, but just remember that even if you get 150 lp from one bucket, if you get 60 lp from one block, you're still ahead, because one log gives 4 boards and 12 blocks. This doesnt work the same if you have a metal saw ofcourse.

Time vs LP wise, buckets are still pretty much the best. Just keep in mind there already are some people with rage and some even murder. They might object to you clear cutting all the trees in a settled area to make buckets. Later on you might want to go hunting. With a decent sling and some MM you can kill plenty of auroch and mouflon, that give nice lp, plenty of food and intestines which can be used to fish, which doesnt give that much lp, but is nice for a change (dont forget to butcher the fish for lp, even if you dont want to eat it). Later on you can hunt boar or bear, who tend to run away rather quickly if you sling them from a boat. Chase and punch for max effect (appearantly, you get lots of extra damage punching someone, or something, in the back)
Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.
