Invisible barrier in a cave

Found a cave, started to go deeper and hit an invisible barrier. No message saying anything weird, just cannot walk past a certain point at any place.

Anyone experienced this before?

It probably just extends of the edge of the map, never heard of that though.
Also could be pretty useful...

It seems as though that is the case. Outside I cannot pass a certain point either and it extends for several minimaps, so its a safe assumption its the edge of the world.
