How Do I Make Gilbertus' Client Work...?

Really dumb question, yes definitely...

How do I make it work?

I've got it installed, I've got it open, I am in the client...

The blue bar at the top of the screen says "Haven and Hearth (modified by Gilbertus)" so I think I really am in the client like I am supposed to be. I figured out how to full screen but that seems to be the same as in the default client. All my hot-keys were cleared, but that is no problem.

I am told that I can have night vision -how do I toggle it on and off, using what? It's pretty darned dark out right now. I was also told that I should be able to see behind stuff -I can't figure out how to do that either although I tried the option of hiding trees and plants it made no change.

Except that it wiped my hot keys it seems like I am still in the old client.

Correction: My own handsome smiling visage in the portrait box has vanished too. Maybe I am invisible???
