'Agility' class melee fighters?

Postby Zigabogado » Mon Jan 17, 2011 11:57 pm

Hey guys. I am aware this isn't WoW or something, and there aren't rogues.
But could people be a decent fighter basing their power off of agility? And not that much strength?
I wonder this, because it seems like a fun thing to do, in this new world of ours.

Considering the main source of food since the reset has been rabbit meat, I'd say it wouldn't be too hard.

Mhm. But what I'm asking mainly is... Is the cooldown bonus from agility really that could enough to use in fighting?

You are new probably and havent even been in a fight yet and your asking about pointless stuff. Strength is damage. If you dont have strength you might as well drown yourself
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Yes having 20% faster cooldowns makes a big differences. Strength will help to actually damage the person though.

Eh, I've been in a fight, plenty of times. I'll just excuse your rudeness, here.
I said above, that yes, you would need strength. Because strength IS damage. But if you match that with agi, could you win based off your overall speed of attacks? Of course you'll need strength.

Thanks for the percentage. I guess I'll do it, then! Seems like fun! :D

AGI matters a lot, and you want to make sure you're always at that +20% as often as you can be, however you must also realize that it's a give and take and that your STR also matters. Don't buff your STR insanely high without keeping your AGI around. Assuming hemp was fixed, tables will still be a bit crazy more oriented towards STR than AGI, but DDDs will help IF you can find enough deer, as it stands now they went fucking rare-mode so good luck. But, assuming we reach mid-game, STR/AGI shouldn't be hard to keep in line for your average warrior if he does cheese and hunts deer.

I'd say the guy with +20% agi would beat the guy with +20% str any day though

As far as I know the only thing agi aids people in combat is its defense against range attackers.
http://havenandhearth.wikia.com/wiki/AGI#Agility has a rough stat evaluation, though I can't vouch for the sites 100% accuracy for some particular bits of info since a lot of the time Jorb leave us with nothing but speculations and superstitious guess work. The only other combat stat again AS FAR AS I KNOW is perception, which aids range attackers.
