Stop griefers from spawning HFs on my claim?

Postby Synzig » Tue Jan 18, 2011 2:56 am

So:

I'm having a little trouble with griefers in a pretty unique fashion.. they are spawning a mass amount of naked characters to fill up my entire claim with hearthfires.

How do I stop/combat this?

They shouldn't be able to place a hearthfire on your claim unless they know your hearth secret. If you've got one set, change or remove it. They shouldn't be able to spawn a fire on a claim by using the hearth secret of another individual who doesn't own the claim. If they are able to do that it really ought to be changed.

I had one person spawn two to stop my palisade construction in W3, but nothing this bad. If they're new, they can't break anything if it's all claimed. I'd downplay it and let them be.

btw, this is funny as hell to me.

Griefers are idiots.

That is all.

One of them a was a 'recruit' for my village and they ended up being idiots. I gave the one guy my HS and cleared it.. now they're all spawning on HIS hearth fire. There are 30+ fires in my claim now.. it's funny because they're all locked in and have no power to leave. But it's ugly as hell.

You can destroy HF's on your claim, if you have 26+ STR, and a Stone axe equipped.

Oh god, that's exactly what I needed to know. Forever in your debt.

Case: closed.

Be very careful. Even off of a claim, with no vandalism skill, destroying hearth fires leaves vandalism scents which will last a long while. Anybody passing by who can get onto your claim could take one and use it to summon and kill you.

Okay. So I got up to 26str and I still can't hurt the hearthfire. Could the number be wrong?
