Can't play; clients crash at startup.

The game doesn't load. It starts up and then crashes on a white screen. I've searched the forum thoroughly for this issue and I could not find any information that would help (and I tried a few suggested things anyway).

I've tried the official client, and I've tried both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Gilbertus. Same problem with both.

The error is simply a standard Windows "this application has stopped working" appcrash. No console output.

Here's the error in full:

I've tried the very latest Java (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions), and I've also tried version 5.1 (as recommended elsewhere).

My system is on Windows 7 64-bit. Played Haven last year during World 3 and didn't really have any problems with it.

Any help kicking Java's ass would be appreciated, thanks. <3

Now that is amazing.

He's absolutely right; switching off "threading optimization" in the NVidia settings panel fixed this issue immediately!

Thanks so much for the link, Goom. I would never have found that otherwise. :)
