Palisade north into cliff?

Postby JCBadger » Thu Jan 20, 2011 8:29 am

Is there any trick or tips to get this wall to complete? (the tile of open space at the bottom) or is my defense completely screwed?

The tile is clearly usable since i was able to plow it and lay stone but the game simply won't let me extend north, place corner post or place one manually.

Hold down the shift key to place a new corner post in a spot that will block access. If you can't do it with one piece, you may have to wrap around the cliff.

You can try to turn palisade west to the end of cliff, that north. But for sure try it with sign posts, or better with roundpole fence.

from what i see you are lucky with the cliffs. there are clifs that dont work and there are cliffs that fit to the wall

from what i see, this cliff fits to the wall, so to say your wall is already complete
(i'd suggest to check that though ;) )

Unless he used a ram, yes there are 2 cornerposts.

It looks like you'll have to make it wrap down the south side of that cliff, imo.

If you are ever in doubt if you can fit a CP at the edge of a cliff, pave it first then build the CP there, if it fits it fits, if it doesnt then it doesnt. I always do it when walling into a cliff.

The reson your north wall fits is because on that type of cliff, the "bends" for some reason alov you to put the the wall all the waY INTO the cliff, as yours is placed there, think you will find it would not fit if you put it one further up. Same with where you hit your s wall, had you placed it one (maybe two) W, it would have fit.

But shift placing a new CP should not really be any problems, to close the gap, done it myself. Just test it out first.
