Defend a cave?

Postby jgudge » Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:59 pm

Ok, simple but complicated at the same time.

I have a tin and copper mine in a cave, and no iron yet. The cave has 1 entrance, i want to guard it.

I have a palisade around my main compound.

I have claimed the land inside the compound.

Obviously i should wall off the entrance to the cave, and claim it, but how should i go about doing this, 2 palisade cornerposts with a gate? That seems rather costly.
Is there a better method?

Pallisades are cheap and metal is a valuable resource. Make an alt and drop a claim on the cave, get a pallisade up asap.
2 Cornerpieces cost you more in time than in resources.

Eh. It's really not something you need to super safe guard. I've found 4 tin mines and a copper already. So it's not something people would try and break down your wall for. (That is, them knowing what's inside the cave before attacking. Which most people don't do. <_<).

As for the problem, I have a Tin cave at my home, with a palisade and village claim. Then the copper mine has a palisade and personal claim.

HOT DAMN! I forgot about village claims, hehe.

I'll do the palisade thing, if nobody has any other suggestions?

I could do one post and battering ram it, but that takes even longer.

Build mutliple layer brickwalls inside the cave. Problem solved. Caves are the easiest to defend structure in the game. If you do it right nobody will ever get in.

Trade. For now palisades do the same job though I guess.

True. Until some dickhole comes by with a sledgehammer. lol

It's a pretty large cave, might have iron in it.

Inside the cave? Is that really a good idea? What would people stop from just mining the walls next to the wall to circumvent it?
