ore smelting

question: with a character 1 point towards industry ( only just found mine) if 30 ores go into a smelter, the odds are, at least 3 should become metal? ( obviously not all in one batch cos smelter doesnt hold 30 before anyone trolls me about that. feel free to troll other things i have noobed though )

The chance is determined when you mine it, based on your industry. Even with industry maxed you're likely only going to get 5-10 bars out of a full load (and 10 is a good load). If you're neutral, you're more likely to get 0-3. It's definitely worth pushing industry before you mine, especially with the mines being limited in this world.
