I feel like I'm doing something wrong, because this seems to be simple . How do you fight things?

find a rabbit or a chicken, walk right up to it, make sure you have 2x2 space free, and right click it. then wring it's neck. as far as actual combat goes, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6518

Apparently chickens and rabbits dont feel like spawning within 5 minutes of my house :/.. back to searching. thanks guys
