Okay. I'm getting annoyed. I tried prospecting in the middle of my town to see what'd happen. Very narrow pie slice! I move a few feet in the direction the pie slice was pointing... "No Minerals Found".
I try again a minute later. Theres no pie slice now, but the entire "dowsing" arrow shoots out red around me! I try building a mine hole where I'm standing. "You cannot build this here!" - Prospect again. "No Minerals Found".
Whats going on, man? Whats going on?

I am confuse about this as well. Loftar mentioned something about a glitch with the prospecting system, and i'm very much interested in what this pie slice business is all about. I've had it several times so far.
Dev or experienced player answer please?

Yeah, personally i looked it up, but it doesn't mention anything about how close the mineral is, and why it says "there appears to be XXXXXX below" sometimes, and other times it only shows a dowsing with a sliver. Shouldn't it be that when you move in that direction that you get the "mineral below" message, not "No minerals"? It's confusing, i'm using rustroot extract q23 atm.

Ok, i read something about next server reset possibly fixing it. I will wait with baited breath.
In the meantime, should i hit up the walls where it pointed, i tested it, and i got nothing, but maybe deeper, or should i dismiss it you think.

That's just the thing though, in my case, i go towards the direction, and it says there's nothing.
It did this before, but then i mined the wall it pointed at, and there was tin in it.
I prospected beside the tin vein and it said there was nothing! WTF. Obviously there's something, i'm still pulling stuff from it now. lol

OK, prospecting is clearly still fucked. I tried to prospect in a cave, with 1 jar of rustroot q32, 4 consecutive attempts without moving. results:
1. No minerals found
2. Pie indicator north
3. Pie chart, no indicator (blank)
4. No minerals found
