Cave mining

I noticed that its possible to mine in caves now so I took the mining skill and Im standing in a cave now but I cant mine anywhere.
No error message or anything.

Is there something Im missing?

Found a place, guess you cant mine near the entrance?
Its saying that the rock is to hard now, what do I need to break it?

1. Read before you post.
