Candleberry wax+leather=hardened leather?

Is it possible to use candleberry wax as a substitute for beeswax in the production of hardened leather? We don't have any candle berries at the moment and I was just wondering if it was possible before we "wasted" our time.

For some reason my beehives wont make beeswax, I harvest and replant my crops every 1-3 days but still no wax, would you or anyone else also have an idea what's going on there?

Plant more crops. We have like 2.5k+ crops being planted/replanted and we get lots of wax/honey.

In last world my several tests shown up, that the more types of crops were harvested around the more wax production occured. My hive standing in the middle of wheat field did not produce any wax at all even though I was regulary harvesting it and the other one, standing in the range of 5 types of different crops was producing wax two to three times a day.

My farms are as such (It's not a big farm btw ^^; )

3x12 carrot farm (not in the beehive range)
3x5 onion farm (partly in the beehive range)
3x14 wheat farm (entirely in beehive range)
3x6 hemp farm (entirely)
1x3 flax farm (entirely)

I get harvests every 1-3 days

Do you think this is enough if I build 2 or 3 more beehives to get wax?

I built about 6 hives, took 2 days to get the wax I needed. In the meantime I collected berries.

Build as little hives as possible that cover as many crops as possible. Don't let hives overlap.
